I'm really interested in language and how it interfaces with the brain. And in general how the brain works. Hence the cognitive science degree.

I like to eat ice cream, go biking, and watch movies. During COVID, I started crocheting- I have made many hats, scarves, and stuffed animals for myself, my friends, and my family!

Research Description

Biography
Ananya is a senior studying Computer Science and Brain and Cognitive Science. Her research interests lie in human-robot collaboration and intuitive autonomous robot behavior. She is currently working as part of Parasol Lab, where she is studying guided methods for motion planning. Previously, she worked in Dr. Tandy Warnow's lab on extending a gene tree correction algorithm for multi-labeled gene trees. She also worked on a project with Dr. Jordan Hasler in which she studied multi-group epidemic models and investigated the effects of various parameters on the long-term infection status of a population. On campus, Ananya is involved in getting more students interested in CS; she is currently a course assistant for CS 374: Algorithms and Models of Computation and has been a facilitator for UIUC's Girls Who Code club since her freshman year. ananyay.com
