BIOGRAPHY

Lu-An Tang is a Ph.D. student in the Database and Information Systems Research Laboratory, Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to join UIUC in Aug. 2008, he received both MEng and BS degrees from Peking University in 2007 and 2004, respectively. He studied in the University of Southern California as a CS PhD student from Aug. 2007 to May. 2008.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

I have a broad interest in the areas of data mining, database, geo-spatial data management and information systems. I have worked on projects of Web information system construction, data stream mining and kNN query processing. Currently I am interested in research topics of Traffic data warehousing, privacy preserving data mining, Micro-array data classification and trajectory mining.

It is an honor for me to work with Professor Jiawei Han and the outstanding Data Mining Research Group in UIUC.
