About Me

I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science Department,  University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC). I am a member of the Data Mining Group of Data and Information Systems (DAIS) Research Laboratory. My advisor is Prof. Jiawei Han.

I got my M.S. degree in Signal and Information Processing in July 2007, and B.S. degrees in Computer Science and in Statistics in June 2004 from Peking University, China.

I plan to graduate in 2012 and I am seeking a faculty position in a university. Please find my CV here.

What's New

  • May 2012: Two papers "Integrating Meta-Path Selection with User Guided Object Clustering in Heterogeneous Information Networks" and "Integrating Community Matching and Outlier Detection for Mining Evolutionary Community Outliers" are accepted by KDD'12.
  • Mar. 2012: I will give the tutorial "Mining Knowledge from Data: An Information Network Analysis Approach" at ICDE'12, Arlington, VA, Apr. 2012.
  • Jan. 2012: I received WSDM 2012 Bing Student Travel Grant Award.
  • Dec. 2011: Our paper "Relation Strength-Aware Clustering of Heterogeneous Information Networks with Incomplete Attributes" is accepted by PVLDB 5(5), 2012.
  • Nov. 2011: I passed Preliminary Exam.
