Graduate Advising

Every graduate student is assigned a faculty academic advisor upon entry to the department. Students should see their advisor for all matters relating to the academic program including course selection, research activities, and if appropriate, identification of a thesis advisor and topic. When a thesis advisor is secured, the thesis advisor become the academic advisor in addition to directing the student's thesis research.

Around the middle of each fall and spring semester, registration for the following semester begins. Students should make appointments with their advisor to discuss their plans for the next semester.
