- August 5:
Final grades are now available on compass. If you would like to see your final exam, please email Kevin or Mike to arrange an appointment. It has been a pleasure, and we wish you the best in your academic and professional careers.
- July 31:
We are extending the HW7 revision deadline to the usual time, Friday, August 1, at 3PM. If the submission box is not outside SC 3303, please slide your work under the door. Good luck on all your finals.
- July 29:
We will pass out ICES (course evaluation) forms on Wednesday and Thursday. Come and give us valuable feedback on our class.
- July 27:
The Final Exam is this Saturday, August 2, 1PM-3PM, in our usual classroom (SC 1109).
- The final covers all course material.
- The Turing machine material (starting July 14) has not been tested on a midterm, and will be emphasized relative to older material.
- A review session is scheduled for this Thursday, July 31, 7pm-9pm, in SC 1103.
- July 24:
If you have not been doing so throughout the semester, take a moment to look over your grades in compass. Please let us know if you find any mistakes.
- July 9:
- There have been updates to HW5. Please download a new copy.
- Midterm 2 is next Wednesday, July 16, in class.
- The midterm covers material from Monday, June 23 through Friday, July 11.
- A review session is scheduled for Monday, June 14 7pm-9pm, in SC 1103.
- Kevin will have extra office hours Tuesday, June 15, 1pm-3pm in the usual location.
- July 7:
- Homework 5 is now available.
- Homework 3 solutions are now available. Homework 2 solutions are still in production and will be posted shortly.
- A reminder: Mike is out of town, so his office hours this week are canceled.
- June 30:
Homework 4 has been released.
- June 26:
- New homework policy: for HW3 through HW7, you may form groups of at most 2 and hand in a single written assignment. Be sure that both group member's names' are on the assignment. Of course, if you prefer to write up assignments individually, you are welcome to continue to do so.
- A clarification: The "I don't know" rule does not apply to honors homework problems.
- June 23:
- The Review Session will occur this evening, 7pm-9pm, in SC 4405. The review session is an open forum; please bring questions, as Mike and I won't have any review materials prepared.
- Homework 1 solutions are now available.
- [update: 2pm] Homework 3 has now been released as well.
- June 21:
Midterm Exam 1 is this Wednesday, June 25, in class. - Covers topics from the first two weeks of class, June 9-June 20.
- A Review Session is scheduled for Monday, June 23, 7pm-9pm, subject to room availability. Confirmation and room information TBA.
- HW2 (due Monday at 3pm) will be returned on Tuesday.
- Kevin will have extra office hours Tuesday, June 24, 1pm-3pm, at the usual location.
- As always, Mike and I will be happy to answer your questions as you study. The newsgroup class.cs273 is an excellent place to ask questions and get help from us and your fellow students.

Tomorrow, June 13 is our first recitation section; see the Course Policies for more information about recitation sections. At the start of tomorrow's recitation, we will take 10 minutes to see an example of how to convert in an NFA to a DFA.
