Notes for setting up lab1 on a non-lab machine

You can do lab 1 on one of the sclass machines in 222 SC. Or you can do it on another XP machine as long as it meets the following constraints:

• It is XP professional
• You have administrative access
• If the machine is in a work group, you have tweaked the system to break out of the simplified security model and reveal the full ACL protection model. This article explains how.
