To access the newsgroup, you must use the new CS server. Go to http://news.cs.uiuc.edu to create your password for access:

1. Click on "User registration and password changing".
2. After authentication and accepting the policy click on the link to create your password.
3. Configure your news reader to authenticate you with your NetID and the password you just set. There is documentation at http://news.cs.uiuc.edu (Outlook users should go to "Tools : Accounts : Add", and after adding "news.cs.uiuc.edu", change the properties of the server so that it logs you on).
