- Problem Set 9 and Headbanging session 9 have been posted.

here. Please note, we will not
provide written solutions to these problems.
- Mahesh's office hours for Friday (November 3) are cancelled. Instead
he will have office hours on Thursday (November 2) and Monday
(November 6) between 10am and 11am (Central Time), in addition
to his usual office hours on Tuesday (November 7).
- Practice exam 2 released.
- Please take survey on partial credit on Compass by Midnight on
Monday October 30.
- On Campus Headbanging Sessions for November 1st and 2nd have been
rescheduled for Sunday, November 5th at 3:00p.m. in 2405 Siebel
- Corrected lecture 17 posted (thanks, Pavithra Prabhakar)
- Problem Set 7 released.
- Solutions to Midterm 1 posted. (See
Exams page.)
- Problem Set 4 released.
- Mahesh's office hours on friday are cancelled. He will instead
have office hours on Monday (October 2) between 10 and 11, in
addition to his usual office hours that week.
- Problem 4 in homework 3 is incorrect. It turns out that the language
does not satisfy the extended pumping lemma (thanks, Roger Fliege).
So students registered for 4 hours, are only required to show that
the language is not regular, by whatever method you choose.
- Practice midterm posted on the Exams
page.
- Problem Set 3 released.
- Headbanging session for on campus students will be held on Wednesday
between 4 and 5 and Thursday between 2 and 3. They will start on
September 20, and will be held in 3124 Siebel Center. However, the
session on 9/21 will be held in 3401 Siebel Center. I2CS students
will receive an email giving the times for their head-banging
session.
- Problem Set 2 released.
- Hint for problem 1 in Homework 1 had an error. The corrected homework
is now on the web.
- On campus students please take a survey on
Compass on suitable times for
head-banging sessions. For a FAQ on head-banging sessions, read
newsgroup posting by Mahesh.
- In each problem set please solve each problem on a separate sheet.
This helps us in grading.
- Problem Set 1 released. All homeworks are due by 12:15pm (Central) on
the due date.
