Due dates for LMP3:

Stage 1 : originally Thursday Nov. 30, but moved to Friday Dec. 1 at 10:00 PM
Stage 2 : Sunday, Dec 3, 10:00 PM
Stage 3 : Thursday, Dec 7, 10:00 PM
Stage 4 (final submission): Sunday, Dec 10, 10:00 PM

There is a problem with the support code in the original LMP3 handout that might cause the fileio tests to fail. We have patched the LMP3 distribution. The patch does not affect the files you are required to edit. You can download the entire distribution here or just the patched files here.

LMP3 and HW2 will be released Friday before 4:00pm. LMP3 and HW2 officially start on Sunday 11/26 but you may work on the over the holiday if you want. LMP2 is due Sunday 11/26 at 10:00pm.

Final exam update. If you are in the 9:00 am class, the Tuesday exam may be best for you. If you are in the 10:00am class, the Thursday exam may be best.

10/06 SMP5 scheduler.c bug fix. change from average waiting and running time to total time in cancel_worker(). See the newsgroup for more information.

9/10 SMP2 is available here. SMP2 is due 10:00pm Sunday 9/17. We apologize for the change in times of the mps, but this allows us to trigger the automatic grader and get things back to you in time for class and Discussion Sections on Monday.

9/10 Week 2 Stallings Ch 1 and RR Ch 1 Self Assessment , Week 2 Stallings Ch 2 Self Assessment Take these Compass self assessment quizzes whenever. You can take the quizzes again and again. To show you have taken the quiz, you can see your grade for the quiz. The grade will count as an extra participatory 5% on top of the 100% score you can get for the work in the class giving you a possible total of 105%. The best score will be used from multiple tries. Some of the questions to Week 2 Self Assessment will be set in the pop LectureQuiz during week 3. (My apologies, but the original version of this announcement was both incorrect and inconsistent with the original grading policy.)

9/6 Revised simplified SMP1 Released in Compass The next machine problem, SMP1 is due next Sunday night at 11:59 pm. SMP1 will be discussed in Quiz Sections this week. Monday's (todays) quiz section has been rescheduled by Jeff and if you cant make the rescheduled time, go to another convenient quiz section. Sorry about not have a Monday:-)

9/5 Partial Grades for SMP0 are on Compass.

9/5 SMP0 Discussion Section mpquiz is released on Compass. The quiz will be available all week to take, but you can only do it once. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THIS QUIZ IN DISCUSSION SECTIONS - TAKE IT ANY TIME. The model answer for SMP0 is released at 11:00 tomorrow, see Homework and Machine Problems . SMP0 will be discussed in the Discussion Sections.

8/25 SMP0 Note change to accommodate Labor Day. The class initial SMP0 (Short or 1 week MP) is available on this website. Deadline is 9/5, 12:01 am Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday! Discussion sections will discuss answers that week. Monday's discussion section will discuss exam answers following week. Answers will also be on web Tuesday at lunchtime.)
