Engineer in Residence: Albert Chu


Albert Chu

Albert Chu is a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in the High Performance Systems Division. He is a member of the Production Linux Group, a group which is responsible for developing, maintaining, and integrating a Linux distribution for several of the largest Linux supercomputers in the world. This includes the current fastest Supercomputer in the world, BlueGene/L.

Albert primarily works on developing scalable cluster management software, adding site specific cluster support to the Linux kernel, and fixing core Linux operating systems bugs. He has also delved into the world of parallel file systems, schedulers, and various other cluster computing technologies.

Albert received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
